Like many small woman-owned business in San Francisco, I was seriously affected by the COVID-19 crisis, my business in making food & beverage products and bring them to independent grocery stores throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Through small-business grants, KIVA loans, and crowd-funding we re-organized business, and in 2020 we formed Sambal Cafe. a strictly Indonesian menu that reflects our food culture, the food that we grow up eating daily and special occasions. I was delighted to find out there is a real demand but a dearth of supply of Indonesian food, thus I  feel the need to fill that void in 2024. I was born and raised in SIngapore, with deep ties to the island of Java, Indonesia. My journey in business is a complicated one, but it helps me understand and appreciate my food culture better.

My Sambal Cafe, a space in San Francisco is suitable to house a cafe with strictly Indonesian menu, catering service, cooking classes, special events, and specialty grocery store for our food and beverage products.
